Palas de Rei

Palas de Rei gets its name from the Latin Pallatium Regis ('king's palace'), because it was a royal seat in at the beginning of the 8^th century, in the late Visigothic era. (Incidentally, it it also said to have been the residence of Queen (Doña) Urraca for some time a bit later, at the beginning of the 11^th century.)
